Abraham went ahead of God\u2019s promise and had Ishmael through Hagar, listening to his wife Sarah\u2019s advice instead of waiting for God\u2019s promise to be fulfilled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Power of God <\/strong>\u2013 Genesis 17: 1b<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God reveals His power to bless Abraham after he reconciles with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Peace of God &#8211;<\/strong> Gen 17:2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once Abraham reconciles with God, God makes a covenant of&nbsp; peace to bless Abraham and multiply him exceedingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Praise to God: <\/strong>Gen 17:3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abraham falls to the ground and praises God for the covenant He made with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Promise of God:<\/strong> Gen 17: 4-8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In verse 5, we can see that God promises Abraham that he will be the father of many nations and changes his name from Abram to Abraham. God&#8217;s promise brought hope to Abraham\u2019s heart, and today, his seeds have filled the earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the hope a name can bring in one\u2019s life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We read that God appeared to Abraham when Ishmael was 13 years old.
